Porsche PDK Repair: Diagnosis and Rebuild Scope
Identify the PDK unit
PDK service must be matched to the installed transmission. Vehicle model, transmission identification and configuration all matter. Parts from another dual-clutch system cannot be assumed to fit because their functions or descriptions sound similar.
Collect evidence before selecting parts
Record fault codes, symptoms, service history and the conditions in which the fault appears. Leaks, electrical problems and mechanical wear require different investigations. Replacing a control unit or clutch assembly without a diagnosis may leave the original concern unresolved.
Confirm the proposed work
A repair quotation should distinguish assessment, mechanical work, control-system work and replacement components. Confirm the availability of service for the exact unit before sending it. The condition of the assembly can affect what is repairable.
Return to service
Installation, fluid selection and any required setup must follow the applicable workshop procedure. Retain the diagnostic findings and repair records. No universal power increase, service-life extension or fixed turnaround is implied by the term 'rebuild.'
