The Ultimate Guide to 7DCL750 Transmission Rebuilds

7DCL750 Rebuild Process: From Inquiry to Return Shipment

Before sending the transmission

Identify the transmission and describe the fault. Supply existing diagnostic findings and recent service history. Confirm the required components, paperwork and packaging before arranging transport; do not assume every vehicle with a dual-clutch transmission uses the 7DCL750.

Stage 1: teardown and inspection

GTE Engineering's Stage 1 covers teardown and inspection only. It establishes condition and the work required. Additional parts, electronics and repair operations are outside that initial scope.

Review additional requirements

Depending on findings, further work may involve sensors, electrovalves, gears, seals, pumps, gaskets or SAP and CCP hydraulic-unit refurbishment. The quotation should identify the applicable requirements for the submitted unit rather than promise the same parts for every rebuild.

Completion and return

Confirm the agreed work and return-shipping arrangements. Carrier tracking describes transport progress; it does not establish the status of internal repair work. The installing workshop must follow the application-specific procedure when returning the transmission to service.
